Greenwood Yoga Academy (GYA) has
a team of professional and experienced Yoga Teachers who can attend
your workplace and/or seminar or conference venue. Members of GYA’s
Corporate Yoga Team can instruct you and your employees in the art
and science of stretching and relaxing techniques originating from
the timeless teachings of Yoga.
GYA understands the pressure of work commitments and
the strains and discomfort that can arise from many hours at the desk
or computer and can create specific classes to suit individual client
needs.
Yoga is for everyone. Yoga is NOT a
religion. Rather, Yoga is a science of life with effective tools to
assist people with everyday life. The physical positions in Yoga are
called poses, not exercises. The word exercise conveys a feeling of
movement. The word pose expresses a feeling of moving into stillness.
In yoga the body is eased into alignment with awareness of the breath.
The pose is then held quietly until the mind and the body are in tune
with each other.
If your company is looking for a range of techniques
to enable your staff to release physical and mental tensions, improve
strength, vitality, body and mind flexibility, calmness and better
productivity in the workplace, contact GYA for further information
regarding their Corporate Yoga Team. GYA has an excellent reputation
as a well established Yoga centre with strong family and business
values, instructing traditional yoga to the community.
Suggested Times & Criteria for Corporate Yoga Sessions
GYA’s team is experienced in presenting
different types of Yoga sessions:
- 45 minutes allows for a brief experience
of gentle movement and relaxation as the body needs time to prepare
for stronger stretches and postures. A short but beneficial time
is allocated for relaxation.
- 60 minutes allows for slightly stronger
movements with more explanation regarding the stretches and postures.
A short time is also included for relaxation.
- 90 minutes allows for a complete
yoga session incorporating limbering, comprehensive stretching and
postures and a suitable period of time for relaxation to facilitate
beneficial results for all.
Yoga teachers work for an hourly rate and this is applicable
to sessions of less than one hour.

In addition, many clients choose to purchase yoga mats
as a gift for employees to inspire their continued practice. Yoga
mats are available in purple or blue at a cost of $20 each. These
are quality non—slip yoga mats, ensuring a SAFE and HEALTHY
practice.
All GYA’s Corporate Yoga teachers instruct using well established
fundamental criteria for a Yoga class. However, all teachers have
their individual preferences regarding how they practice and instruct
the class. On occasions some teachers may use blocks, blankets or
belts to assist with the stretches or postures. All GYA’s Yoga
teachers have their CPR or Senior First Aid Certificate.
