Yoga Teacher Training Course
Margaret Willcocks, trading as Greenwood Yoga Academy (GYA) as a Registered Training Organisation (Provider Number 51556) is formally recognised by the National Accreditation Council under section 27 of the Vocational Education & Training Act 1996 and from 2010 will be presenting:
Advanced Diploma of Holistic Classical Yoga Practices
Commencement date: Saturday 10 April 2010.
Duration of course: A period of 108 weeks for completion of the entire course
Course content: This course covers all 8 limbs of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga through 12 specialisation Units of Competency. In addition, 12 Units of Competency from the Health Training Package must be successfully completed.
Independent units: People can study and be assessed for individual Units of Competency should they simply wish to further their understanding and knowledge of Yoga in a particular area or to gain a Unit of Competency from the Health Training Package to assist their professional or personal life.
Trainers & Assessors: All trainers and assessors are well experienced and qualified yoga teachers who have successfully completed their Cert IV in Assessment and Training.
Recogntion: This course has been accredited by the Yoga Teachers' Association of Australia which is the guiding Yoga association for all yoga teacher training courses in Australia. Upon accreditation from the Training Accrediation Council of WA this course will also be recognised nationally in all areas of training for allied health and medical professionals as well as in the Yoga and Fitness industries.
Successful completion: of the course will provide graduates with appropriate skills and knowledge to a variety of levels and groups of students eg adults, pregnancy, restoraitve, teenagers, corporates, beginners, ongoing etc.
Contact hours: 657 hours comprising 432 hours of skills and knowledge training; 60 hours assisting within a 90 minute class; and 165 hours as a participant in a 90 minute class. In addition participants are assessed on 289 hours of home practice and research.
Pre-requisites: It is preferable for participants to have had at least 2 years regular practice with a qualified yoga teacher as the purpose of this course is to teach people how to teach Yoga and not how to do Yoga. Click here for more info.
